First of all, congratulations for completing ten successful years in the media filed as News Presenter.

1. Where did you born and brought up…  your mother tongue?

A:   Born in Tenali, Brought up in Andhra and my mother tongue is Telugu.

2. Let us know first of all what made you to stick to this field for so long?

A:   I enjoy news reading, news casting is a challenge and I like challenge. This field gave me professional, personal satisfaction and a very good recognition.

3. Who inspired to be in media: 10 years ago there was not much awareness about the profession?

A:   In the initial stages of my career my mother inspired me and later on my seniors and co casters.

4. What were those lighter/tougher phases you went through in the initial stages?

A:   Initially was not very confident bout my skiils in news reading and my performance, to continue as a news caster those are very important aspects. After couple of years being in the field gave me the strength and opportunity to improve my news reading skills and appearance. Slowly I was receiving positive feedback from friends, relatives and several viewers. It helped immensely and elevated my confidence to a new level.
In the earlier days technology was not as advanced as it is today and I used to live in Chennai to do the news, new place and new environment was hard. I quickly acquainted my self with the co-workers who helped immensely through out my tenure at E-TV. I was doing midnight shifts around 2am on a 2 wheeler (imagine a lady in the midnight on the mount road Chennai). At times police advised me not to travel at that hour. But to continue in my profession I have decided to work in such conditions. Later on I was provided a car for pick up and drop off. I was very inspired and determined to prove my self.

5. News readers appeared and disappeared. But how do you manage to present yourself with a fresh look every time you appear on the screen?

A:   Because I never felt that it is a routine job. I take every bulletin as a challenge and over time it has become part of me. Everyday is a new day and every bulletin needs a new look.

6. Tell us about your family and how far your family supported while you enter into this field?

A:   Well, I entered this media because of my parents. So, naturally they supported me in each and every step of the way. My mom advised me to apply for this job. She told me to try it before you quit. That quotation inspired me. I tried it, I liked it and here I am after 10years. About My family, My father “Mr.Netaji”, Dy.CEO Panchayatraj dept. (retd), my mother “Mrs.Sarada”, house wife. I have 2 older brothers. My first brother “Lenin”, a software professional living in the USA. My 2nd brother “Bharath”, working for a private cargo company at Kakinada Port.

7. How would you like to spend your leisure time?

A:   Reading magazines, watching T.V.,films, meeting friends and shopping.

8. Do you think you’ve set a brand in news reading? How did you develop it?

A:   I never thought I had talent in news reading. I think every one gets an opportunity in their life to prove what they are made of. I think when I got this opportunity at first I felt the same way as every one else ,”Can I do it?” , I believed in my self and my ability and kept improving day by day watching my own news and others to learn and study what I was doing wrong and tried not to repeat the same style. Finally I have become confident enough to not watch my own news to learn but to receive it. As far as setting a trend I will leave it to the viewers. There are many news readers in the industry now and I hope to keep up my style of news reading at its best.

9. Which other media inspires you the most apart from television and how do you face the competition with youngsters in upcoming channels?

A:   I read and follow other news and entertainment magazines to best inform my self what is happening in the world. There are many news readers in the industry now and I will try to keep up my style of news reading at its best. I feel competition is healthy and it brings the best from me.

10. Your comments on present trend in news presentation?

A:   Like every trend and style, news reading is also going through its own changes over time. I think we are going through modernization and western influence in every part of our life. My point is to learn what west has to offer and apply it to best fit our culture.

11. What role fashion has to play in news presentation? As we get and see you only clad in saree?

A:   As I mentioned above, Culture and style plays a role in every ones career. I started news reading when it was looking for a fresh face. I started my trend in traditional South Indian style and I got the feedback that every one likes the way I read and appear on screen. Fashion and style are attractive but voice, confidence and command over the language play very important part of news reading skills.

12. Success means to you…

A:
I am proud of my self that I have done some thing good out of an opportunity that I was given and made a career out of it. I think Success given me other opportunities and I am trying to take advantage of them.

13. For those who intend to get into media field, aspire to be future news presenters. What would be your guidelines?

A:   Appearance, voice, confidence and command over the language are very important skills that every aspirant must have or willing to develop over the time.

14. How would you feel on the felicitation by Aradhana & Delhi Telugu Academy on your 10 years successful career in news presentation?

A:   I am grateful to their interest in recognizing me and my 10years of successful career. I am also happy that celebrating ones career inspires others and I hope this celebration will be a great beginning for others.

15. Tell us about your "Pragathi Media Links" in terms of when it was started and its developments and also your future plans and projects?

A:   I have started Pragathi Media Links 2 years ago, primarily a news reading training institute to help all the aspirants to take their fair chance to prove them selves. I think every one has talent in one or the other skills and I wish some one will stumble in to this news reading media like me. I hope to be the one to find that future star. We are also offering other media related training for voice over. In near future, I am also planning to launch media opportunity finding agency to provide anchors, news readers, announcers, comparers and actors.
